Chuck Domanico

chuckdomanico large gallery history

There were basically two bass players that I used everytime I had a session. Chuck Domanico and Arni Egilsson.

I talk about both when I am discussing people that I have worked with through the years.

What I remember about Chuck most was his smile. He always smiled whether he was playing simple stuff or difficult stuff. As a conductor that puts ones mind to rest. If he added something musically that I did not think worked for me, I would nod negatively and he would smile and keep playing. The reverse was also true. When he added something musically that did work (and that was more the norm), I would nod positively and he would just keep smiling and playing.

What is missing in this picture of course, is that nice full frontal view of that smile, but this does bring back a lot of very nice memories to me, just seeing this!

Chuck is no longer with us but Arni is. Check out his website www.arnaeus-music.com!
