New News Weekly Udate #4

Monday 14 November 2005!

We've had a busy week an re-writes are becoming popular for Bill. Almost everything Bill writes, arranges, composes or otherwise is for one particular group or occasion. In the last year a lot of the new pieces seem to cross over well into other musical groups. Hence, though it is not his favourite thing to do, it seems most prudent to re-write some pieces for new groups.

The piece Bill is working on at present is his Fantasy Australia I, originally written for small orchestra (grade 3 - 3 1/2), it was re-done (with some added lines, etc) for Brass Band and used by the K&N Band for their fun number during the recent South Australia State Championships. K&N won the Grade A State title again, could it be possible that that piece...nah! But it was well played and well received so Bill is in the process of re-doing it for Concert Band (grade 3 - 3 1/2).

In the meantime their are three new commissions on the table for Mr. B so the New News Weekly Update might miss a couple of weeks but, hey, it sure is great just trying to keep all of you updated for what is happening on a regular basis.

Have a great week!
