New News Update #7

27 March 2006

The time fly's by and all the great ideas of keeping the website up to date on a regular basis seem to fly by with it! Ha! But we have at least updated the Schedule for what will be happening in the rest of the year.

It's been a very busy first three months with a trip to Melbourne, Victoria and the Penleigh Essendon and Grammar School Artist in Residency at the beginning of this month and just ending with a weekend in Brisbane, Queensland visiting St. Laurence's School, Brisbane State High School, Queensland Conservatory of Music and guesting at the Salvo's 120th Anniversary band weekend in Bundamba.

There are no new pics yet but you might want to go to www.pegs.vic.edu.au an see some of what was going on that week. It was a busy one with six composition students writing their first film music, year six, nine, ten lectures in film scoring, one on one lessons, rehearsals with Big Band, Concert Band and Orchestra with a terrific concert celebrating Broadway at the end of the week (Sunday) with the Orchestra and Choir. Wow!! Power packed, that's for sure.

Coming home to lots of e-mails and three new commissions to finish by the end of the month and preparing for the Australian National Band Competitions the first part of next month will keep us hopping for a little while longer.

So! All in all be patient with us as far as publications and the like. We're learning how to do the mp3 thing as well in order for you to listen to more of the albums available.

On that note we have broken into the Japanese market with half a dozen orders for "Memories of Hoyt's Garage as well as some others.

It's exciting times around BroughtonMusic as we are now very officially and legally named. My beautiful wife, Jan, runs the business et al and I keep writing the music and going places. All in all we are enjoying every aspect of it!

In the meantime, be patient with our updates and stuff but please be in touch with us if you have any questions. We'll keep at it for sure! More later!
