New News Update #9

Jan and Bill spent last weekend (26-28 May) in Mt. Gambier, South Australia visiting the Generations in Jazz competitions. It is a national event, hosted and started by James Morrison and Australian Icon in the music industry.

For those of you who have not heard of either go to the website's of each and find out what it's all about:
www.jamesmorrison.com.au
www.generationsinjazz.com.au

This was absolutely fabulous and in my humble opinion, world class to the max!

James asked Bill to rehearse and conduct the Division I "Super Band" for the Sunday afternoon concert. This band is comprised of the best players from all the bands in that particular competition. Incredible young players that made music very exciting.

We're looking forward to going back each year by James' gracious invitation.

Other new news is the announcement of two new albums to be recorded by Bill this year.

The first to be his T'Bone's Unlimited! Seven trombones and rhythm. Hopefully, to be released before Christmas 2006.

The second to be a solo album recording with the K&N Band, South Australia's premiere Grade A Band. They were Australian National Champions in 2002 and remain to always be at the top of the list in competitions. The friendship between Bruce Raymond (K&N Bandmaster) and Bill kind of leads itself to getting this new recording done.

Bill will record 6 ballads, not before recorded by him and 6 other solos more technical in nature. So part of his days will again be keeping those "ol' chops" in shape.

At present August, September is the unofficial time to record.

Other than that, check out Bill's yearly schedule on the site. June is dedicated solely to finishing the orchestration to The Antipodean Fantasy composed for James Morrison using his "multi-intrumental talents to play ten instruments with full Symphony Orchestra.

Stay tuned for that one! It'll be a ripper!

After June, there's lots more music and events going on.
